The Beatles

I know all of you who took the quiz in my previous piece “How Well Do You Know Your Red States?: A Quiz On ESG” are eager to get the answers so you can find out how well you’ve done. I will get to that soon but first, for a select few of you, including my good friend and colleague Professor Shivaram Rajgopal, the Beatles would like to say:
You say it’s your birthday
It’s my birthday too, yeah
They say it’s your birthday
We’re gonna have a good time
I’m glad it’s your birthday
Happy birthday to you
Yes, today is my 72nd birthday 🎉 🎊🎈and I’m very excited about this!
Yes we’re going to a party party 🎂
Yes we’re going to a party party 🍾
Yes we’re going to a party party 🥂
Life is more than a party, of course. There is important work to be done, like staying on top of the ESG Culture Wars and this is a goal of mine for the next year. That said, my life would be incomplete if only experienced in the cerebral realm. I have some physical goals as well. I want to get back to being able to deadlift 400 pounds. Thanks to two years of COVID-19 and no travel, I was able to rigorously follow the Magnusson & Ortmayer Deadlift Program and hit a PR of 410 in late 2021. Respectable for a non-athlete (remember that I went to MIT) who started lifting at 60 years old but a long way from my hero Eddie Hall, the first man to deadlift 500 kg (1,100 pounds).
